Despite efforts to recycle takeaway cups, the vast majority of them end up in landfill, or littering our countryside, rivers, and sea. With more shops moving away from takeaway cups, carrying a reusable cup is essential, and might even earn you a discount on your daily hot drink.
Shole's 12oz cup is easy to carry, with a smaller and lighter design than a metal 16oz cup - ideal if you find it difficult to carry a full-size takeaway cup in your bag. Its durable stainless steel double wall construction is lightweight but tough, keeping drinks hot for up to 6 hours but without scalding your hands. A spill guard ensures your drink stays put on the walk to work.
Powder coating gives the cup a sleek finish and an easy-to-grip surface, and a screw on lid stays secure as you drink.
Shole was created by two people who wanted to act on plastic waste after seeing the massive scale of our pollution problem on TV. The company has a range of food flasks, coffee cups, and lunchboxes that will help your family move away from disposables.
More information: The Shole 12oz cup has a capacity of 370ml and can be used for hot liquids, keeping them warm for up to 6 hours. Don't allow hot liquid to touch the screw on part of the lid as it may burn your mouth; you can avoid this by not overfilling it. The cup is 11cm high, 9cm in diameter, and weighs 290g. Note that some cup holders are not compatible due to the wide base, so you might not be able to use this in your car -- best to check. Never put steel items in a microwave.
Caring for your Shole cup: Please wash your cup in warm, soapy water before its first use and after each subsequent use. Air-dry upside down and don't use abrasive cleaners or wash the cup in a dishwasher. A small amount of baking soda may dissolve stains, or try removing marks gently with a coconut fibre brush.
