The Swag is a special triple-layer cotton produce bag that is designed to keep produce fresh in the fridge for up to two weeks.
Simply dampen the bag slightly, fill it with produce and place it in the fridge for a simple plastic free fruit & veg storage solution.
The Swag can also be used for root vegetables as a dry storage bag for your kitchen counter.
When your Swag reaches the end of its life, it is fully compostable apart from the care label which should be detached and placed in your black bin.
Made ethically in India.
When you receive your Swag, wash it in the washing machine at 30 degrees Celsius to fluff up the inner layer of cotton. This helps the bag to absorb more water.
When you're ready to use your Swag, it needs to be very slightly wet UNLESS you are storing mushrooms or root veg - if you are, skip this step. For all other produce, quickly rinse the outer layer only. Then wring it out so that it's slightly damp - not dripping wet. Your Swag should be dry in places and very slightly damp in others. Wash your produce thoroughly; ideally, you should rinse it in very cold water with a splash of apple cider or white wine vinegar.
Chop the stalks off vegetables and aim to wrap fruits before they ripen. Fill the swag, placing harder and heavier items at the base and light items like herbs at the top. Fold over the flap and place it into the fridge (don't refrigerate root veg). Every day or so, check that the Swag hasn't totally dried out. If it has, just take it out of the fridge and rinse it very quickly again to rehydrate the fibres.
